What we collect

Account information: your email address (for login links and notices), language preference, plan and payment status. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never store card numbers.
Your website content: the public pages you authorise us to crawl and any text you add manually, used to build your bot's knowledge base.
Visitor conversations: messages typed into the chat window on your site, the bot's replies, the page URL, coarse location (country) and an irreversible hash of the IP address used for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Names, phone numbers or emails visitors choose to share are stored as leads and emailed to you.
Technical logs: request timing and error data kept for a short period for operations.

How we use it

Only to provide and improve the Service: generating answers, sending you leads and login emails, measuring usage for billing, and preventing abuse. We do not sell your data, do not train general-purpose models on your content or conversations, and do not serve third-party advertising.

Processors

We rely on the following infrastructure: Cloudflare (hosting, database, vector search), large language model APIs (answer generation; only the conversation and relevant knowledge snippets are sent), a transactional email provider (login links and lead emails) and a payment provider (subscriptions). Each processes data only as needed to provide the Service to us.

Retention and deletion

Conversations and leads are kept under your account until you delete the bot or your account. Deleting a bot removes its knowledge base, conversations and leads. Login links expire after 15 minutes; sessions after 30 days. Email hello@kefu.help at any time to export or delete your account data.

Your website visitors

As the website operator you are responsible for informing visitors, as required by local law, that an AI assistant is used and how data is collected. Our chat window sets no third-party tracking cookies; it stores a single session identifier in the visitor's browser so a conversation can continue across pages.
